Azmaya Chopsticks
It has been said that the custom of using two pairs of chopsticks was transferred to Japan from the continent in the 5th century and the 6th century. After that, over a long period of time, Japanese have used chopsticks and have created a variety of food styles leading to the present and unique food culture.
In other words, it can be called a symbol of eating habits in Japan. Azmaya has made simple, easy to use wooden chopsticks suitable for everyday dining, made from three kinds of Hard Wood which are familiar to everyday life: Ironwood, Ebony, Rosewood.
Ebony from South Asia and Africa continues to be processed into furniture and musical instruments, a precious glossy finish glossy. Ironwood, which is characterized by beautiful gray leaves and broad-leaved trees, is hard and durable. Rosewood from the tropics is also used for handicrafts etc. from the beauty of reddish wood skin.
Finely crafted chopsticks resulting from a collaboration between design firm Azmaya and Wajima wood artisan Aizawa. Aizawa's woodworking skills have been refined over more than 30 years as a Kiji-shi producing the wood bases for the regions famed Wajima-nuri lacquer. Made by craftsmen in Wakajima's woodland and the home of lacquer ware, each chopstick is carefully polished one by one.
As with all wood, pleas do not put it in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly every day after washing.
